Change Your Child's Life Forever,

By Teaching them How to Pray

What is the most important job you have as a Christian parent?

It is passing your faith along to your child. What do I mean by passing your faith along to your child? I mean helping the faith take root, not only it your child’s head but his or her heart. I mean becoming a true Christian, from their heart, not just going through the motions. I mean when they grow up, they will go to church, be involved in church, and follow a life devoted to God.

After the age of 15, 3 out of every 5 people lose connection with the Church

It’s a crisis for you as a Christian parent. Because what this means is that you, as a Christian parent are in danger of losing your children to the faith. 3 out of 5, over half of children that grow up in church will abandon Christianity when they grow up. Now they may not become affirmed atheists, but they will show little evidence of a real and true faith. They won’t go to church because they really don’t think it matters. They won’t think it matters because God doesn’t have a meaningful place in their lives.

What Are the Consequences?

The majority of you know this, but some might ask, "is this really a big deal? If my child grows up and does not want to be a Christian, isn’t that his or her choice?" Of course it is. But if that happens, you need to understand the consequences. The consequences are eternal. Eternal. The consequences of having faith or having no faith are not just for this life, but for eternity. In other words, the consequences are immense. The stakes could not be higher.

If that happens, you will have failed as a Christian parent in the most important job you have. Passing your faith along to your child.

Think about it. As parents, we all want to give our children good things. We make them do their homework, because we know they won’t get in a good college if they don’t make good grades. We take them to piano lessons or get them in the band because we think learning about music is important for them. We take them to soccer practice and on vacation and to the museum so they will be well rounded. But what if, what if we did all those things, and they grow up to be otherwise well rounded, but have no faith? What if they grow up to be successful but essentially people who live without God. Then we will have failed as a Christian parent.
